What If I met an Alien ?
Do you think aliens exist? What would you do if you ever get the chance to meet one?
It was a rainy day. I was sitting in my bed staring out the window. My mother was gone shopping. I sigh loudly, bored. Suddenly, I see some unearthly lightening, and a loud ‘BOOM’ fills the atmosphere.
A UFO falls out of the sky and lands somewhere in the heart of the woods. I get up from my bed and start putting my things in a backpack. Binoculars, torch, my lucky clover, my dog’s favourite biscuits and I slip my cell phone in a waterproof zip-lock bag. Finally, I wear my rain coat and rain boots.
I hop onto my bicycle... It’s time for an ADVENTURE!
When I reach the forest, it looks unusually spooky. I flip open my torch and head into the darkness...
I reach the heart of the woods. It seems eerily quiet. I dim the light of my torch and take out my binoculars. I see a faint glow a few feet ahead of me, through my binoculars. I crouch down and hardly dare to breathe. I slowly make my way toward it. As I get closer I stop head in my tracks. ‘Scitter-scitter, Scatter-scatter’. That’s when I see it.
A huge 20 meter wide UFO! A dark shamrock green with bright shimmering lights. A cloud of smoke escaping the dismantled engine. An odd looking creature rushes out of the back door. As soon as it sees me its bubblegum pink skin goes pale. I quickly take out my dog’s biscuits and put them on a rock before it can attack on me. That 3 feet tall creature wiggled it’s nose and cautiously took a bite. Instantly that dim-lit ring on its head turned a dazzling shade of gold.
It stared ate the biscuits for a moment and gobbled the whole packet of dog treats in the blink of an eye. It ate like a hungry lion and rubbed its belly, contented. Then, he looked at me and stretched a wide smile, held out his tiny hand, and introduced himself as ‘Dino’. I said, “Hi Dino. I am Vanya. Which planet are you from?” He replied, “ I am from Mars, but you can’t tell anyone that because if they find out about us they will kill everyone on my humble planet.
We are trying to avoid humans from hundreds of years, because they are dangerous. Until today, when I accidentally crashed here. By the way, do you have any more of those tasty stones?”
“They are called biscuits, and I have a whole cupboard full of them, you can take them back to Mars. I won’t tell a soul about you I promise. The biscuits are back at my house.” Dino agreed and so we set off. As soon as we reached, I gave him all my dog’s biscuits. I emptied my backpack and stuffed them in. When Dino saw my lucky clover, his eyes widened. He asked, “Vanya, will you give me that too? Back on my planet they cost 9,000,000 marshpees. That’s our currency. If you give me that I will give you something in return too!” I thought about it for a moment. My clover had brought me all the luck I needed, I met an alien after all! They don’t just fall out of the sky anytime you want. Oh wait, they do.
But, it was time it brought luck to someone else. So, I nodded and packed my clover too. The ring on his head lit up again. He put his hand in his pocket and produced my cell phone with the zip-lock bag and said, “I took it in case you tried to call somebody, but you have proved yourself trustworthy. I have upgraded your phone so, you may be able to contact myeloma whenever you want.” I took my now better phone from his out stretched hand, and smiled. “Thank you, Dino.” I said. “I should be thanking you for that clover and your bis-cits.
Did I pronounce it correct?” “Haha, yes you did.” “So, I’d better get going, my family will be worried sick.” Said he. “Good bye, Dino. See you soon.” “Good bye, Vanya.” And so, he disappeared in a puff of black smoke. I ran to my window and waved frantically at the zooming spaceship.
Phewww!!!...
